What You’ll Do
RTI is seeking a Public Health Analyst for Monitoring and Evaluation and Data Visualization to provide support for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Center for Global Health, Division of Global Health Protection’s (DGHP) Office of Monitoring and Evaluation. This position is based in Atlanta, however, remote telework is allowed. In the future, work may need to be conducted onsite at CDC facilities.
We provide monitoring and evaluation support to Global Health Security (GHS) projects within DGHP. This position will be conducting monitoring and evaluation and will be the primary go-to for data visualizations for the project. Additional activities may include data management, the development of survey tools, and develop monthly and yearly reports on progress.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and update existing data visualizations utilizing established platforms (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) that can link with data management platform.
- Develop and plan evaluations for GHS-related activities in collaboration with CDC subject matter experts within and external to CDC HQ.
- Conduct and assist with program evaluations including data collation of existing data, mixed-methods data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Report and write on results of evaluation for relevant presentations and manuscripts.
- Provide technical assistance and consultation to CDC key actors in countries planning and conducting evaluations.
- Support approaches and processes for coordinating and maintaining data for routine reporting purposes.
- Produce standard operating procedure and instructional documents when necessary to update or document data management processes.
- Coordinate and update existing data collection tools utilizing established platforms (e.g., SurveyMonkey, REDCap, Office 365, MS Teams) that can link with data management platforms currently in use.
- Prepare and provide biweekly status reports, culminating in a final report.
What You’ll Need
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in public health or a related field.
- At least three years of experience with M&E or program evaluation.
- Proficient with data visualization software including PowerBI and/or Tableau.
- Proficient in designing evaluations and performance metrics (e.g., writing evaluation plans, development of logic models, and developing indicators).
- Proficient in creating high quality products including analytic briefs, presentations, and reports with data visualizations.
- Proficient in data collection (e.g., interviews, focus groups, surveys, or other methods).
- Proficient in data management, (e.g., construction of data files, data entry, development of data dictionaries, conducting data quality control and assurance).
- Expert level experience using Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent written communication skills
- To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with CDC.
- Global health experience working on/with CDC or other USG global health projects.
- Familiarity with evaluation frameworks used in global health security, including CDC evaluation frameworks, JEE, SPAR, etc.
- Familiarity using qualitative software packages e.g., NVivo, MAXQDA, Excel.
- Experience working with local health programs.
- Familiarity with Global Health Security.
- Publication and oral presentation record.
