JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

Tasks to be performed under this contract
  1. First deliverable – Validated Analytical Plan of the Thematic Report on Migration : A validated structural plan for the thematic report on migration, covering internal and international migration, with disaggregation of results according to the relevant territorial levels (region, governorate, delegation).
  2. Second deliverable Comprehensive Thematic Report (Draft and Final) including Analyses, Tables, Graphs, and Maps : the consultant will support in data processing, validation, and adjustment to enhance analytical accuracy and ensure methodological consistency. The consultant will conduct technical reviews of the migration thematic report, propose necessary adjustments, and ensure the editorial quality and readability of the report. Partner feedback will be incorporated to finalize the deliverable. The consultant will also ensure consistency in translation between French and Arabic, maintaining clarity and accuracy across both languages. the key findings and analytical outcomes from the thematic report will be summarized in a clear and engaging PowerPoint presentation developed by the consultant to facilitate the understanding and dissemination among INS staff and partner organizations during dissemination or validation sessions.
  3. Third deliverable:Brief (Flash) in French, Arabic, and English Intended for Institutional and Public Communication : For this deliverable, the consultant will develop concise, user-friendly flash notes summarizing key findings of the migration analysis, including the determinants of migration and its linkages with demographic dynamics, employment and regional development. These briefs will be prepared in French, Arabic, and English and will adhere to institutional visual and content standards. The consultant will support to identify the opportunities to integrate migration-related data into other thematic flashes, in coordination with the INS and other UN agencies in charge of supporting the production of these flashes.
  4. Fourth and final deliverable: Recommendations for the Valorisation of Migration Data in Public Policies The consultant will participate in technical consultations and validation sessions with INS focal points and representatives from ministries to gather feedback. Based on the comprehensive analysis and collaborative discussions, He/she will develop actionable recommendations for effectively leveraging migration data in public policy formulation and implementation.

 

Required Qualifications

Education
  • Advanced university degree (master’s or PhD) in demography, statistics, social sciences or equivalent.
Experience
  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in the analysis of census data and/or migration surveys, in collaboration with national statistical institutes or other international statistical bodies.
  • In-depth knowledge of migration issues, with expertise in leveraging migration data to develop detailed migration analysis and studies.
Skills
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel Pivot table, Power BI and other statistical tools.
  • Excellent graphic design skills, with a demonstrated ability in the field of data visualization and dissemination.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in French and/or Arabic.
  • Knowledge of English is preferable both written and oral.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
Languages
  • English and French are required
IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
