Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the National Media and Communications Officer, the successful candidate will support activities related to media and communications for the project “HELIOS+: Comprehensive Actions for the Integration of Third Country Nationals in the Labor Market”.
Responsibilities
- Support the creation of press material content for IOM’s press briefing notes, newsletters and website texts.
- Proficiently utilize various social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube.
- Work with Meta Business Suite and paid advertising.
- Coordinate the planning, and preparation of media events, such as seminars, press conferences, meetings, presentations and others.
- Prepare and generate in a timely manner social media content including text, photos, videos and other media for use across a range of integrated online platforms.
- Draft and submit monthly donor reports on online and offline communication activities and results.
- Support the drafting and the implementation of Communication and Visibility Plans, aligned with donor’s requirements and in coordination with Implementing Partners
- Collaborate with missions departments and projects when necessary
- Promote IOM activities and be aligned with IOM visibility rules
- Perform general administrative tasks to support the project implementation related to knowledge management products, including the preparation and/or processing of administrative requests and documents.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- University degree in Journalism, Media, Communications Management, Social Sciences, International Relations, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
- High school degree/certificate with three years of relevant professional experience.
- Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience
- Experience in dealing with International and Local donors’ visibility (EC, Government of Greece, RRF, ESF+, HOME Affairs Funds)
- Experience in communications and/ or working with the media;
- Experience in working in a migration/refugee setting would be considered as an advantage;
- Experience in liaising with governmental and diplomatic authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment;
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems;
- Solid/ demonstrated experience in drafting policy documents and concept papers and/ or developing institutional strategic documents;
- Experience in migration-related issues.
Languages
Fluency in English and Greek (written and oral) is required.
